1) I sometimes sing too loudly when i'm walking home, listening to my ipod.

2) I had a fear of sleeping next to the telly when i was young, cause i'd be afraid something will come out and drag me in. Then it became worse and I thought when I am alone at home, the tv will become this huge vortex and suck me in. i'm over that now.

3) I was diagnosed with a schizoid personality back when i was in NS. wasn't that the name of a cartoon character?

4) I feel like shitting and puking when I'm having sudden nervous attacks before presentations and stuff.

5) When I have this recurring dream of being trapped in a never ending loop of staircase in my block, I am able to control myself to walk to the nearest window and jump out of it. And then in the "falling" part of the dream, I can physically force myself to open 1 eye and be able to "see" my dream and my physical surroundings at the same time. Spooky.

6) I harboured the thought of being a CIA spy/assassin for the longest time.

The Biloxi Sun Herald in Mississippi which surveyed the disaster around its editorial offices and asked: "Why hasn't every able-bodied member of the armed forces in south Mississippi been pressed into service?"

Experts on the Mississippi Delta pointed out that a plan to shore up the levees around New Orleans was abandoned last year for lack of government funding. They noted that flood-control spending for south-eastern Louisiana had been chopped every year that Mr Bush has been in office, that hurricane protection funds have also fallen, and that the local army corps of engineers has also had its budget cut. The emergency management chief for Jefferson parish told the Times-Picayune newspaper:"It appears that the money has been moved in the President's budget to handle homeland security and the war in Iraq, and I suppose that's the price we pay.". "Why were developers permitted to destroy wetlands and barrier islands that could have held back the hurricane's surge? Why was Congress, before it wandered off to vacation, engaged in slashing the budget for correcting some of the gaping holes in the area's flood protection?"

Victims say they've been abandoned

"I don't treat my dog like that," 47-year-old Daniel Edwards said as he pointed at the woman in the wheelchair. "I buried my dog." He added: "You can do everything for other countries but you can't do nothing for your own people. You can go overseas with the military but you can't get them down here."

"A single sniper or two snipers shouldn't have to shut down a hospital evacuation for two hours now," Dr. Ruth Berggren told CNN. "I look outside, I'm not seeing any military."

Diana Boylston, 39, is a teacher in some of New Orleans' sink schools. She escaped, but has been unable to track down any of her pupils, "My students have the saddest, most heart-wrenching lives. Their parents are on food stamps, lots are on drugs," she said. "None of their families would have had access to a car or any other means of getting out of the city. The projects they live in were the first to go under. I have tried to instil hope in these kids for so long - but now I'm desperate. I think they are dead. Two of them, Dwight and Dwan, are twins who I am very close to. I called them on Monday morning at about 4am to try to persuade their mother to take them to the Superdome. But she was out. Their neighbour explained she was going to make them 'stick it out' as God was on their side and wouldn't let anything bad happen."

"I spoke to them again on Monday morning, just a few hours after the storm hit, but I have heard nothing since. I am so worried. Their homes would have been the first to go under.

"People in the poor, black-dominated projects have suffered the most."

The city is "out of resources at the convention center and doesn't anticipate enough buses," the mayor said in his statement. CNN's Chris Lawrence described "many, many" bodies, inside and outside the facility on New Orleans' Riverwalk. "There are multiple people dying at the convention center," Lawrence said. "There was an old woman, dead in a wheelchair with a blanket draped over her, pushed up against a wall. Horrible, horrible conditions. "We saw a man who went into a seizure, literally dying right in front of us."

The officer said police are "on their own" for food and water, scrounging up what they can from anybody who is generous enough to give them some -- and that they have no communication whatsoever. Police also told CNN they were removing ammunition from looted gunshops in an effort to get it off the streets.

Outside the Convention Center, the sidewalks were packed with people without food, water or medical care, and with no sign of law enforcement. Thousands of storm refugees had been assembling outside for days, waiting for buses that did not come. At least seven bodies were scattered outside, and hungry, desperate people who were tired of waiting broke through the steel doors to a food service entrance and began pushing out pallets of water and juice and whatever else they could find.

Mayor Ray Nagin offered the most startling estimate yet of the magnitude of the disaster: Asked how many people died in New Orleans, he said: "Minimum, hundreds. Most likely, thousands."

its been a looong while since i updated... i think only a select few still bother coming here to check on what's going on... haha... so let me feed you with some little bits and pieces of information before all of you turn to some sordid local blog (read the news) to quench your thirst for stuff abt someone else's life...

//stuffed nose... must be the tonnes of dust particles i stirred up today when i moved my stuff so tat tmrw the contractors can come fix the useless new rivets that the government wants us all to put in just because THEY didn't think of such a stupid requirement earlier...

let's start from the latest news...

1. i got a new watch! heee... baby surprised me with a swatch xlarge touch today... she secretly ganged up with my cousin and got it for me... i totally had NO IDEA it was happening... i've wanted to get a xlarge swatch for a long time... mr blacky... but this is better! it has 2 timezones! now i don't have to worry about the timezone difference when communicating with amex's australia office! thanks baby!

2. pay's in! and pay's out... got our pay on friday... and i promised myself an ipod mini on my first pay (and baby was there to make sure it was my first pay and not any of my non existent savings from before).. so yes.. its going to be called marvin... and its silver... and its got my name engraved on the back... problem is i ordered too late and they don't work on weekends... so i'll have to wait till late next week to get him... but i'm FINALLY getting an ipod mini... yay!

3. work has been slowly piling up... good in a sense tat i have stuff to do and learn from... better than sitting around doing nothing and getting sleepy... but i've been a little too careless at work... and always have this urge to rush through my work... which is bad... i'll have to slow down and be more careful... next week i'll start on my first marcomm project... due to the fact that i've signed a non-disclosure document... none of you will ever know what work i am doing... its a secret... and i can get fired... *machiam secret government project... oops did i say government?

4. oh forgot... to rant... juz now we were on our way back from church... and at the katong area... the traffic was stopped right as we were there because of TANKS moving around... for a good 15 minutes... NO MOVEMENT for us... PLENTY OF MOVEMENT FOR THE METER AND THE TANKS... bloody hell... same problem earlier when i was taking a bus to church... all diverted... bloody hell... i shud call up LTC ang and complain to them about claiming my taxi expenses...

5. i'm hunting for shoes... we'll go to queensway tomorrow to get new shoes... i want a pair of pumas... i also like this pair of converse but she doesn't... i want the older adidas ones with the goodyear soles... those are nice nice... or puma starks... but they're like really expensive... at least 300 i think...

6. i need a haircut... no i'm not the guy on my user pic... but it'd be cool if my hair cld grow tat long... haha... but i like hair shorter... easier to style...

7. my aunt is back from hospital again... lookin frail and pitiful... she looks like she's in need of attention more... its just so depressing to see her that way... i can see that she's depressive inside... its so sad to see someone who was so healthy and cheerful degrade to this state because of old age... things have just changed so much... my sis and i used to cuddle with her and listen to her stories... now my sis hates her and i'm just so depressed to see her this way... Lord, please watch over her...

i remember i was walking home from swimming lessons back in the late 80s... and as i was walking on the path with a friend, i saw a $5 note on the grass... so i picked it up... then i saw a man sitting on the steps right across... so i asked if it was his money (without hesitation)... he said yes and i gave it to him... i walked on... turned back from 100m away and saw him looking for even more money...

i should have gone back and spit on his face... then scream LIAR! CHEAT! at his face...

most people don't realise it... but its just their nature to think less about others... they just want to focus on their own comfort, convenience, benefit... its so much a part of their being that they don't realise how selfish they really are...

wardrobe issues

today i met my mum and sis after work for some wardrobe updating... i couldnt find ALL of my fitting pants (except for 2 pairs of slightly baggy ones)... so i resolved to get new clothings for work...

i have a few shirts... all plain solid coloured ones... 2 whites, 2 greys, 1 pink, 1 light blue, 1 black (with velcro instead of button... from playboy)... and some others that i don't want to wear... since i have to wear office wear everyday... no choice LO!

a cosy cosy day

as everyone should know (or know know) its the 1st week of SIP over... and weekends are so rare and precious... and its time to spend whatever little precious time left with someone you love love love...

yesterday was spent in church... then came home to watch telly... and we decided that we should go watch a movie today...

boo went to church in the morning and we agreed to meet up at great world city becoz 1. it had a cinema 2. it had a zara outlet 3. it was near to town... then right before i left for greatworld... it started to POUR POUR POUR... but fear not... i got umbrella and taxi on my side... hahaha... so i went down and was swamped by SO MANY CHILDREN... she was on her way...

when she finally got here.. we went to kenny rogers and shared a 1/4 chicken meal... then we snuggled up in the cinema full of families and watched madagascar...

after the show we wanted to go to town but i suggested that i cook (same stuff again)... and we came back and i made dinner... had dinner and watched telly... there was dennis the menace... animaniacs... and other stuff... lots of snuggling and cuddling... it was very nice... i need more of this... haha

such a nice warm (yet cool) day... :)
